Tolerance means forbearance or putting up things. In other words, it means accepting other people's opinions and preferences. Tolerance is an important concept, essential for individuals to live peacefully in today’s world which is full of conflicts and a lack of patience in people. Tolerance not only helps people to live peacefully but also assists people regarding the better understanding of the world, by listening to each other opinions, ideas and thoughts. Tolerance is also about accepting the value, traditions, culture, religions of each other. In more plain terms, tolerance means accepting the people as they are, not the way we want them to be.
In today’s world, everyone is in hurry. This haste and lack
of empathy towards others create intolerance in society. Thus we face
unpleasant or rather worst outcomes in the form of fight and war. For being
tolerant we must have to be patient listeners, respect others' views if they are
wrong or disagreeable.
Tolerance does not mean that only one party or individual
show patients and accepts other opinions, whereas another party does not. Rather it
means patient and respect should be shown from both sides. Both parties
should pay attention to the problem. In order to get a positive outcome.
Today people are living in a diverse society. People of
different ethnic groups, cultures, civilizations, languages, and religions live
together and work together. Today, the world has shrunk due to globalization
and term as a global village. Therefore now promoting and establishing tolerance
become more important than in the past. So, the dire need of the time is to accept
the people as they are.
In this challenging time, it’s difficult to accept and
respect others' views that are different from yours. No one is willing to
compromise with his/her goals, everyone wants to be right and everyone wants that
people agree with him or her. Especially about the topic which is near and
dear to our hearts. At the end of the day, it becomes the cause of conflict between
two parties. Which disturbs social life and social relations. Along with social life, it causes many physical and mental issues like stress and anxiety. Due
to stress and anxiety peoples starts abstaining from sharing their problems with each other and they carry the heavy
burden of stress in their heart. Becoming more tolerant is not an easy job. It needs
a lot of effort. It takes efforts to have sympathy for beliefs or practices that do not match your belief and practices.
It's amazing blog. 👍
